Performance Opportunities
An essential component of dance education is performance. It gives students the opportunity to showcase their personal achievements, hard work, dedication, and artistry. GBAD students have unique opportunities to gain performing experience through two annual presentations, “An 1836 Portsmouth Nutcracker” and the annual spring Academy performance. Performances are optional for all students ages 4 and above.
In addition to these two performances, in-studio performances are held throughout the school year featuring all levels of students. For our littlest of dancers, who might not quite be ready to perform in front of a large audience, presentations are held at special times throughout the year in conjunction with holidays and end of trimester classes. For older students, the opportunity to present student choreography is welcomed throughout the year within studio presentations. Collaborative performance efforts with other local arts organizations are encouraged and presented at various venues throughout the community.

"Annual School Year Spring Performance"
All GBAD students, ages 4 and above, are given the option to perform in the year-end spring performance. The performance is typically held in late May/early June.. Rehearsals for the performance are held outside of class time and the purchase of costuming is required.
"Great Bay Academy Student Performing Company"
GBAD's student performing company, is a selected group of dancers, considered to be the community outreach and performing arm of the Academy. The group was created to provide aspiring dancers with the practical experience of working within a dance company. Members have the opportunity to work with guest choreographers/teachers and are given wider performance opportunities outside the scheduled Academy performances.
